Ok heres a question for ya Vela,

In one of the Gospels, someone asks, i think it was Peter, he says something like "When does the time come of your Crucifuxion?" Then Jesus says something like "It will come when my name has been told to all nations."

Now heres my problem to this. China? Japan? All the Islands? South America? ect.. ect.. WERE NEVER TOLD OF THIS MAN CALLED JESUS.

Leviticus 18:22, 20:13, and Romans 1:27 are the verses in the Bible that reference homosexuality specifically. In both Leviticus verses it says that lying with another man as with a woman is an abomination. Romans says that men who leave the natural use of the woman and burn in lust towards one another working that which is unseemly receive unto themselves the recompence of their error which is deserved, ie. STDS, etc. I have paraphrased these verses because I do not have them memorized but I can post them word for word if you would like DH.

The Bible says it's an abomination, not that it's unforgivable and you'll go to Hell for it. There's another verse I remember that I'll have to look up later that has a long list of sins with that included which says that some of us Christians were like that once (homosexual, murderers, whatever) headed for Hell but once we were saved we are now cleansed and sanctified. I'll look it up for you. Being a homosexual, murderer, liar, thief, etc will not keep you from Heaven, not accepting Jesus as your personal savior will. It does not matter what you've done, just what you do about it.

Being gay has nothing to do with being catholic. A person being gay is uncontrollable and that does not stop them from being a catholic person or believing in the religion. The bible does not stricten or restrict people from being gay. However, This is were it changes, a person is aloud to be gay, but proceeding in gay acts is a sin. So being gay is aloud, doing gay acts(such as homosexual sex, kissing, etc) is a sin, and is not permitted.

Read the verses in Leviticus and Romans I posted above Gaza, Lev. says it's an abomination, and Romans says that even "Burning in lust towards one another" is a sin.

This is a good question. read this interesting artical i saw awhile back on answerbag:

According to the Bible, "sin is the transgression of the law," 1 John 3:4. And, "All unrighteousness is sin" 1 John 5:17. So sin is breaking God's law and all unrighteousness—anything that is not righteous.

One wonders how self-sacrificing love between committed, faithful same-sex partners could ever be described as unrighteous.

Additionally, Paul tells us: "And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin" (Romans 14:23). According to this verse, anything we do that goes against our conscience (causes us to doubt) is sin. Because Jesus makes it clear that how we treat others plays a large part in whether or not we are living in sin, the correct answer to the question about homosexuality lies in Matthew 22:36-40 and Romans 13:4-10. In those verses, Jesus and Paul sum up Old Testament law in two succinct and pithy tests:

1. Do I love God with all my heart, soul, strength and mind?

2. Do I love my neighbor as myself?

Jesus never asked or answered the question of whether homosexuality is a sin. Instead, Jesus focused the attention of his listeners on their own lives. He forced them to confront their own shortcomings when measured by the standard of God's word. Because God's written word never condemns committed, faithful, non-cultic same-sex partnerships, we can honestly answer, no, homosexuality is not a sin.

Homosexuality Is Not a Sin Any More than Heterosexuality Is

Both homosexuality and heterosexuality are innate orientations, as intrinsic to human beings as hair color and right or left handedness. Even Dr. James Dobson (on his anti-gay website Love Won Out) affirms this truth when he states: "We do not believe anyone chooses his or her same-sex attractions." Christians derive their concept of sin from what the Bible actually says. If the Bible says something is sin, then Christians believe it is sin. Because the Bible never condemns committed, faithful, non-cultic same sex relationships, Bible-believing Christians should not label homosexuality as sin.

What many presume to be homosexuality in the Bible is not homosexuality at all. Instead, what the Bible describes in the "clobber passages" is actually cultic pagan worship of the fertility goddess. Because the Bible in context does not support their presuppositions, those who oppose gays and lesbians habitually take verses out of context to "prove" their argument.

A Common Tactic of Those Who Oppose Gays and Lesbians

A common tactic of those who oppose gays and lesbians is to demonize us as a group. An egregious violation of common decency is highlighted—nudity and public sex at a San Francisco gay festival, for example. The illogical assumption is then made that all gays and lesbians behave like the egregious example, and therefore all gays and lesbians are living in sin. The problem with this argument is that anyone who knows gays and lesbians knows that most of us do not behave this way. We are so normal in our daily lives and in our political and spiritual beliefs that we blend into the general population.

Question Is Based on False Assumptions About What the Bible Teaches

Is homosexuality a sin? That's a bit like asking, "Is slavery a sin?" or "Is interracial dating a sin?" All three questions are based on false assumptions about what the Bible teaches. Some folks used the Bible to defend slavery and segregation, both of which are now acknowledged to be wrong. What the Bible says has not changed—but how we understand and apply what the Bible says has.

Those who oppose homosexual partnerships use the Bible to defend their oppression of gays and lesbians. They use the power of government to deny them civil rights under the rubric of obeying God. Yet when prominent Christian and conservative leaders discover they have a gay son or lesbian daughter, this new perspective changes their interpretation of the clobber passages. The Bible has not changed—but their understanding and application of what the Bible says changes, because now it affects their family.

Seven Flawed Arguments

Is homosexuality a sin? Those who answer "yes" employ seven flawed arguments:

1. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. This argument says God will only bless marriages exactly like Adam and Eve, although God never makes that assertion in the Bible. For example, only two chapters after Adam and Eve, we discover a polygamous marriage in Genesis 4:19—one man with two women.

2. Genesis 19 proves that God destroyed Sodom for the sin of homosexuality. This argument collapses when we notice that although the Bible mentions Sodom 48 times, it never mentions homosexuality in the context of any of those 48 verses.

3. Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 prove that God hates the sin of homosexuality. This argument ignores the context of "thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind." The context is shrine prostitution in worship of Molech and Ashtoreth, his fertility goddess consort (Leviticus 18:3, 21-22; 20:2, 3, 4, 5, 13).

4. Matthew 19:3-12 proves that God only accepts male-female marriage relationships. This argument ignores a clearly stated exception for eunuchs, to Jesus' teaching, which he makes in verses 11-12. Jesus lists three classes of eunuchs who cannot receive his teaching about Adam and Eve marriage. The first class he mentions is "born eunuchs" (individuals born anatomically whole, who have not been physically castrated but who are not inclined toward heterosexual marriage).

5. Romans 1:26-27 proves that God prohibits all homosexual relationships. This argument ignores the historical and religious context in which Roman Christians received Paul's letter. The issue for Paul and for God was prohibiting Christians from engaging in fertility goddess worship, not prohibiting committed, faithful, non-cultic same-sex partnerships.

6. 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:10 prove that homosexuals cannot go to heaven. This argument ignores the fact that the words malakoi and arsenokoites were never used in the first century, with the primary or exclusive meaning of homosexual. Even anti-gay scholars like Dr. Gordon Fee admit that malakoi and arsenokoites were rarely if ever used to mean homosexual in the first century.

7. Jude 7 proves that God destroyed Sodom because of homosexuality. This argument dies a well-deserved death when we point out that the Greek word for "strange" flesh is heteros, from which we get our English word heterosexual. Jude says the fleshly sin committed by the men of Sodom was heterosexual sin. Had Jude or God intended us to believe that homosexuality was the sin of Sodom, they would have used the Greek word homoios, from which we get our English word homosexual. If homoios had been used, that would have been our textual clue that the sin of Sodom was homosexuality.

To answer the question, then: No, homosexuality is definitely not a sin.

yes homosexuality is a sin as i do believe. What those things are above ^ is a twisting and re defining of what the bible says. Dont need to dig into it. The bible says homosexuality is wrong so its wrong. You cant be both a true Christian and a queer
