With the rise of the internet and perhaps the blockbusterization of video games, many gamers have been retreating to the recesses of retro. Some of you, though, may frequently visit social sites like reddit, or browse Steam’s just-released tab on a daily basis, and are completely sick of the “retro” craze. If that’s the case, what better way to show your disgust than constructing a urinal out of and subsequently peeing on everything you loathe?
The urinal is not just an art installation piece, or something wacky that was specifically constructed to make people on the internet laugh. It’s an actual working urinal being sold on Craigslist. The south Denver seller has the item priced at a cool $499, the price of an Xbox One or $100 more than a brand new PS4. The benefit of this item, of course, is that you shouldn’t pee on your brand new next-gen console, but you can pee all you want on a urinal.
The urinal works, but SNES cartridges aren’t made to be resistant to constant streams of urine, which is why the seller individually sealed each cartridge to protect and your onslaught. Water has been run through the urinal many times, and other moving parts have been tested, but the seller stresses that it has not actually been peed on as of yet. Included in that $499 price tag is the honor of christening the piece.
The toilet is mainly composed of old, iterative sports titles like Madden. So, you can not only feel relief about not peeing on rare classics while relieving yourself, but take pleasure in peeing on the symbolism of iterative, thoughtless game refreshes.
Though the toilet works, the seller can’t promise that it would work under the stress of your everyday bathroom cycle, so think of it like that pristine white couch in the living room that no one is allowed to sit on, but looks really nice.
