This week we have the second Loot Drop Side Story, because it’s the second Loot Crate since this started! The May 2014 Loot Crate is “ADVENTURE,” which means Adventure Time and The Legend of Zelda mashed up into one box full of toys and collectibles. Watch the video below for the full unboxing.
This month’s Loot Crate is curated by five members of Polaris: Markiplier, CaptainSparklez, LDShadowLady, JoshJepson, and TheJWittz. Loot Crate curators are basically big nerds (who are beloved by other nerds) who help decide*what to put in the crates. As a fellow nerd, I salute them.*The star of the crate, as usual, is the t-shirt. It’s a Link-shaped word cloud by Zen Monkey Studios, and it looks pretty radical. It goes nicely with the bottle opener keychain included in the crate that shows the Legend of Zelda’s old man and Link with the words “IT’S DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE. TAKE THIS.”
Adventure means Adventure Time too, and that means a Funko blind bag figure in a neat collectible tin. The figure is not articulated. Sorry about that, Jake. The other blind figure, a Minecraft dangler, is articulated.*Finally, the Loot Crate includes some Polaris tie-in swag, including a soundtrack of the Friend Zone podcast, as well as stickers and tattoos from the curators. And, of course, the monthly badge with a logo representing the crate’s theme.
It’s a good haul this month. Keep an eye out for future Loot Crates in the coming months, along with regular Loot Drop reviews and videos every Friday!
