Sales of the first person shooter were unaffected by massive quality issues, according to publisher EA.

When Battlefield 4 was released back in November 2013, it was basically unplayable on the PC (and a few other platforms). It took several weeks and several patches before developer DICE turned the game into a stable release.
Things were so bad that EA is now facing several class-action lawsuits over the state of Battlefield 4 when it launched. Lawsuits allege that EA misled investors, where company executives sold shares just days before Battlefield 4′s release.
Not only that, gamers and the fan-base complained loudly — including us here at BF4Central — about all the issues the game was facing.
With all these things going on, you’d think it would have an effect on sales. Not so, according to EA. During their recent investor call, EA COO Peter Moore said that sales of Battlefield 4 were unaffected by the quality issues. He said that Battlefield 4 did not sell any better or worse than EA’s other titles, such as FIFA and Need For Speed.
Moore added that EA will “continue to be able to sell [Battlefield 4] effectively throughout the next fiscal year”. EA did not release any Battlefield 4 sales numbers, though.
While the game has been criticized heavily over the past few months, developer DICE has been working hard, and has consistently released patches. However, as we saw with this week’s patch, they tend to introduce new problems with each update.
When Wall Street heard about the problems back in December, EA shares tumbled. Since then, EA’s share price has rebounded to its highest in months.
Last week, DICE announced Battlefield 4 player appreciation month in February, where players will get daily Battlepacks and other items, as a way of making up for all the present and past problems.
