It's very possible. I have no doubt that this works.
I just don't believe that you're the creator. Your friend, maybe did something. You; not so much.

But then again, making modded firmware isn't that hard. You just need the right tools, and of course the right keys. Ever since GeoHot found that root key, people like your friend have been making our online lives a little harder. Also, since it's just MFW, I don't think you have the root key either. Anyone who knows anything about programming and assembly could create a modified firmware.
