In this age of console-first game development, PC gamers will take every advantage they can get over what the consoles have to offer, and Call of Duty: Ghosts players just got a new feature to boast about.
Call of Duty: Ghosts received an update that introduces support for Nvidia’s realistic fur technology, which forms a part of its PhysX offering. What this means is, with the update applied, you’re going to see a noticeable improvement in the fur on Riley, the attack dogs, and NPC wolves in the game.
It’s a small graphical improvement, but not the only reason to apply this update at your earliest convenience. On the performance front, the update improves frame rates when using moving platforms, cuts latency on AMD graphics cards, and improves load performance and shader warnings in the game. Ghosts is also going to be more stable running on PC, with a number of crashes fixed, as well as the flickering seen on smoke and graphical corruption in the blurred area of the dual render scope solved.
Console gamers will be pleased to hear an update is available for their versions, too. Both PS3 and PS4 builds have performance improvements, a number of crashes fixed, as well as in-game issues solved, such as problems with loading and spawning in certain maps, weapon attachments not showing properly, and split screen UI issues.
The patches for PC, PS3, and PS4 are available now, with all future updates announced through the official Infinity Ward Twitter account.
