The more popular a culture or community becomes, the more difficult it is to find something truly unique produced by or held within it. What started out as social news gathering site, Reddit has grown to become one of the most popular social communities on the internet, complete with its own culture, language, and content. However, as Reddit has grown, creativity has waned — visiting a handful of links on the front page will often turn up comments that prove those links are simply reposts of old popular posts. Even when a post is original, it normally doesn’t take much thought to comprehend — a video game joke, someone who parked their car like a jerk, a picture of a celebrity — it’s calorie-free entertainment, and you move on to some other calorie-free morsels shortly after.
Even so, Reddit is still a great community for weird, creative, unique, often barely comprehensible content. You just have to dig a little deeper. Luckily, we did the digging for you.
And yes, these are all safe for work.
There are a host of other extremely weird subreddits, but then you’re venturing into territory best left for viewing in the privacy of your own home, and perhaps with various forms of liquid courage. From creepy subreddits that appear to be some form of (likely staged) human experiments, to ones dedicated to generally tame body parts of celebrities, Reddit still has some weird left in it. - /r/infiniteworldproblems: Highlighting the test helps you read it, but not understand anything.*Among the best of the world problems subreddits.
- /r/gggg: Supposedly was originally created having to deal with Morse code, but now appears to simply be a home for all things g.
- /r/deadfriends: Another (probable) code subreddit. This time, Snoo is drawn awkwardly drawn, and the posts are submitted with strange, off-putting titles.
- /r/FifthWorldPics: Ten thousand years of dogs.
- /r/UNITINU: A subreddit dedicated to symmetry. If you need a hint, take a look at the middle image first.
