Another great Friday filled with fantasy numbers to give us a great Friday recap!* So let’s get right into it!*
Dan Haren:* 7IP, 4 hits, 2 earned, 0BB, and 7Ks. *Haren since returning from the DL has been a much better Haren.* He has lowered his ERA to a 4.99 but in his last 32 innings he has 2.25 ERA with 32 strikeouts.* If he was dropped earlier in the year in your league it’s now time to scoop him back up to help you down the stretch!*
Justin Morneau:* 2-5 with two runs, two home runs, and five RBIs.* If it weren’t for this guy the Twins would have fell to the White Sox on Friday.* Morneau obviously isn’t the same hitter he once was but he can still get the job done.* The 25+ homers are gone but hitting .265 with 13 homers and 64 RBIs is enough to be on anyone’s fantasy team.* I bet fantasy owners wished he was traded before the deadline to earn a little more production with a contender.*
Josh Reddick:* 3-5 with three runs, three home runs, and five RBIs.* Still hitting only .214 on the year with awful last month it seems he would never come around.* Now it seems that he may have found his swing from last year which got him 33 on the year.* Reddick might be another option to pick up but more of a watch because this late in the year you don’t want to lose someone else for a guy who will go back to his slump after a few good days.* Keep a very close eye on him!* With his bat hot he can be a huge piece for the A’s and for Fantasy.
Jed Lowrie:* 4-4 with two runs, one home run, and four RBIs.* He reached in all five plate appearance with a walk and four hits.* Lowrie has managed to stay healthy and have a career high in games played and still having a year where he’s in the tops of shortstops.* Hitting .292 with a .357 OBP and nine homers, 48 RBIs, and 51 runs, he’ll be very valuable heading into playoffs.*
Brandon Beachy:* 8IP, 3 hits, 0 earned, 1BB, and 6Ks.* Beachy, after returning from TJ surgery, had been a little shaky, but last night he showed a huge stride to what he was last season.* Even though it was the Marlins he completely dominated and only allowed three hits over 8 frames to win his first game of the season.* If he can continue this pace he’d definitely be a good pickup going further into the season.*
Wilin Rosario:* 3-5 with two runs, one home run, and four RBIs.* Still one of the best catchers in the game, in my opinion, he can really get things going.* He has been hot of late and even though he’s most likely not going to be a free agent in fantasy, but if he is you must go grab him!* Rosario is now hitting .278 with a sub-par .309 OBP.* His 16 homers and 56 RBIs are a luxury for a catcher!*
Justin Maxwell:* 3-5 with two runs, a home run, and two RBIs.* The Royals are using him a lot since acquiring him from Houston and it’s been paying off.* Hitting .266 with a .335 OBP isn’t that appetizing but since going to KC he’s been ripping the ball and could add depth to some fantasy teams.* Add him to the watch list to see what he does in the next week or two.*
Leonys Martin:* 1-5 with two RBIs.* He’s had six stolen bases this week and a few RBIs.* Martin has 26 swipes on the year and now being the Rangers new leadoff man, he’s a must own.* He has been on fire the last couple weeks and could add much needed depth to many fantasy teams.* Keep a look out for him.*
Adrian Beltre:* 2-4 with three runs and an RBI.* The Rangers have struggled offensively but not on Friday.* Beltre has quietly been climbing the charts in numbers this year but hasn’t had much hype where it’s deserved.* Texas is where he belongs because ever since going there he’s looked better than he ever has.* Now hitting .321 with a .367 OBP and 25 homers, 71 RBIs, and 68 runs scored.* Fantasy GOLD!*
There you have Friday’s recap!* Any questions, advice, requests, or concerns please let us know or catch me on Twitter @NickRosa4.* We want to help you the best we can in getting you to your Fantasy Baseball playoffs!* See everyone tomorrow for Saturday’s recap!
