DICE blames poor server hardware on lag and rubber banding problems.

The latest Battlefield 4 patch was released last week, and was supposed to fix some of the rubber banding and lag issues that have been prevalent on 64-player servers. If anything, however, things have gotten even worse. More and more players are reporting of lag and rubber banding problems across all platforms.
DICE has released a quick statement, confirming the issues. DICE says that:
“We’re unhappy with our server performance, so we’ll be upgrading the hardware as soon as possible, investing more to deliver a better experience.”
There was no ETA on when we can expect things to be better. It’s been almost six months since Battlefield 4 was released, and it’s still plagued by issues. It took DICE six months to realize that server hardware needed to be upgraded, after months of complaints from players.
The problem is most severe on 64-player servers on the PlayStation 4, where in most cases, playing on servers with 60+ players is close to impossible. Last week a Battlefield 4 patch was supposed to fix some of these problems, but according to player reports (and our own experience), things haven’t changed at all.
