Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai just released an image that could imply that Peach and Mario are tying the knot. Finally. Then again, perhaps not!
"Whom is the ring for?" Sakura wrote above the image. Japanese site Inside wonders if Mario is proposing to Peach. Oh Masahiro Sakurai, you tease!
If they do get married, maybe this means Super Smash Bros. will be a totally different kind of fighting game—like with verbal arguments and stuff.
Then again, maybe Peach is giving Mario the ring so he can marry another Nintendo character. Like Toad. Or maybe Peach is wearing the ring on her middle finger and not on her ring finger. Or maybe Peach doesn't know that is her ring finger. Or maybe the image is a reverse negative. Or maybe Masahiro Sakurai is trying to build up hype for his games.
In another Peach screenshot for the game, the character clearly has the ring on her middle finger:
So there's that!
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will be released next year, ring intrigue and all.
