There isn’t a lot we don’t already know about the LG G3 thanks to all of the leaks over the past month, or at least that’s what we think heading into their launch event. Whether you’re sold on the device yet or not, LG is preparing to officially unveil their latest Android phone to the masses today.
Everything we know about LG’s latest flagship points to one hell of a smartphone, and considering Samsung and HTC have already dropped their super phones this year that’s saying something. The 5.5-inch beast is said to use a 2560 x 1440 resolution display powered by a Snapdragon 802 clocked at 2.46GHz, with a 13mp camera aided by a laser autofocus and a 3,000mAh battery.
The design appears to be a thin metal casing with the same rear key design LG has been rocking for a year now, placing the volume rocker and power button on the back of the phone instead of the sides. Everything we’ve seen so far points to an all new UI from LG, which couldn’t be a bigger deal for the success of this phone. LG’s biggest criticism in the past has been their custom version of Android, and if they have solved those issues it is likely this phone will be a much bigger hit this year.
The G3 event is expected to start at 1pm Eastern, and will include a detailed walkthrough of the phone and its capabilities. We’ll also see a bit more about LG’s special new case for the phone, which has been a big part of LG’s promotional material up to this point.
We’ll be following up the event with some additional coverage for sure, so stay tuned and let us know what you think about LG’s shiny new superphone in the comments.
