EA responds to NFL star's indefinite suspension with a roster change.
By Michael MartinEA plans to remove Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice from Madden NFL 15 on Friday in response to Rice’s indefinite suspension from the NFL.
The change was confirmed by EA after Fox Sports 1 NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported that Rice would be completely removed from Madden NFL 15 on Friday after a new graphic video of Rice punching his wife and knocking her unconscious was released online. Rice’s contract with the Ravens was terminated and he was suspended indefinitely by the NFL shortly thereafter.
This would not be the first time EA has removed a player due to scandal.
Last year, former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez was removed from both Madden NFL 25 and NCAA Football 14 after he was indicted on multiple charges of murder.
Madden NFL 15 was released last month and impressed IGN, earning an 8.7 on current-gen consoles.
