LG has officially unveiled the G Flex, an Android-powered smartphone with a flexible Plastic OLED screen. As previously rumored, the device is equipped with a 6-inch display and a 13-megapixel rear camera, but now that the phone is official, we know what else to expect from the G Flex when it launches next month.

According to Engadget, the LG G Flex will include a 720p display, a 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM 8974 chip (the same found in the recently released G2), 2GB of RAM, Rear Key hardware buttons, and a curved 3,500 mAh battery to match the handset. The G Flex also features a "self healing" coating on the rear case, which the company states "has the ability to recover from the daily wear-and-tear scratches and nicks."
LG explains that the curved design enhances voice and sound quality when making calls by bringing the microphone closer to a users face, provides an "IMAX-like experience" when viewing content in landscape mode, and fits more comfortably inside your back pocket.
On the software side, the G Flex utilizes Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and a number of unique software tweaks carried over from the G2, like the tap-to-wake KnockOn feature, as well a few new options, such as Dual Window, which is essentially LG's version of Samsung's MultiWindow view.

LG's new G Flex will launch November in Korea, with additional markets expected to be announced at a later time.
Competitor Samsung recently launched a curved OLED smartphone of its own, and, like the LG's new device, the Galaxy Round is currently only available in Korea.
