8-inch tablets occupy a handy niche in the tablet world, offering up more real estate than their*diminutive 7-inch cousins, but*still falling squarely into the portable category. Today Dell is offering a sweet deal on its*recently*updated Venue 8 tablet, loaded with modern specs for just $150.
The Dell Venue 8 sports an IPS display with wide viewing angles and good outdoor visibility, but one of the nicest little touches on this unit is the full*1920×1200 resolution. That*gives you*a handful of extra*pixels not found in*typical 1920×1080 displays. It’s also loaded with the most recent version of Android, 4.4 KitKat, so you can take advantage of the latest features Google’s operating system has to offer.
Venue 8 with Bluetooth speaker

This tablet packs some solid*specs, starting with a dual-core*Atom Z3480 2.1GHz processor. On top of that there’s 16GB SSD storage (expandable via microSD) and 1GB RAM, plus dual-cameras in the form of a 2MP webcam on the front and a 5MP shooter in back. Connectivity options are limited to microUSB on the physical side, but*802.11 AC WiFi with*Miracast and*Bluetooth 4.0 gets you hooked up when you don’t need wires.
At just 0.74lbs and with a profile measuring 0.35-inch, it won’t be any problem to grab and take with you on the run, and the large*4550 mAh battery should give you enough juice that you can part from your charger without undue fear. Those looking for a dash of color can upgrade their Venue 8 to a bolder red model for $20 more too. Dell backs this with a 1 year warranty.

A final note: With*MaxxAudio Mobile, this tablet has some good audio potential, and they’re currently running a sale on a slick looking portable Bluetooth speaker — music fans should definitely check this deal out too.
