A new player appreciation event includes double XP, weapon camos, and community missions. But no patches...

Back in February, DICE did a Battlefield 4 player appreciation month, where players got some double XP events and tons of Battlepacks. Now they’ve announced “Battlefest”, which is a new player appreciation period in July.
And as expected, the Battlefest includes double XP events and free BattlePacks. The double XP starts this weekend, where everyone will be getting their XP doubled up.
Aside from double XP and free Battlepack, players will also get some free weapon camos for their weapons, and new community missions. Finally, the Battlefest will feature a Battlefield 4 stunts competition, where players can send in videos of their craziest stunts, where EA will give prizes for the top three stunts.
The Battlefest launches just in time for the Battlefield 4 Dragon’s Teeth expansion, which launches on Tuesday, July 15th for Premium members, and two weeks later for everyone else.
While it’s good that DICE is rewarding those players who are still playing Battlefield 4, we’d much rather they spent their time fixing the game with patches. That’s the proper way of getting back the players who left. In our humble opinion.
