There has been plenty of speculation about the launch of Apple’s next iPhone, and thankfully it looks like we’re only going to have to sift through the rumors and fakes for another week or so. Apple has sent their invites out for the launch of the iPhone 6, and September 9th is the big day.
Apple has taken to dedicating launch events to a single product line, so it’s unlikely that we will hear too much about the recently revealed plans for a larger iPad. There’s a lot of talk about Apple finally unveiling a smartwatch, but there has been very little hard evidence to suggest that is a guarantee either. What we have seen plenty of are two different sizes for the iPhone. We don’t know if the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions of the iPhone 6 are the same, or if one of them will be branded as an update to the iPhone C. For all we know there could be*a production issue*that makes it so we only see one version of the iPhone 6 at this event. There’s plenty of speculation, but as with all things Apple we will just have to wait and see for sure.

There’s not a lot about this invite that deviates from the usual Apple release cycle. The launch event is on Tuesday, September 9th. This means we’ll see likely see pre-orders for the phone on September 9th and the actual launch on Friday, September 19th. We’ll be right there with you for the livestream of the event, and following up with our usual brand of commentary. Are you ready for the next iPhone?
