NON-ITUNES FEED LINK[/h] Ricky Nolasco dominates the Cubs
The Dodgers traded for starter Ricky Nolasco back in early July, and since then he has pitched better than most starters in the National League. Yesterday, he shut out the Cubs over 8 innings, giving up just 3 hits, a walk and striking out 11 in the Dodgers 4-0 win. Nolasco is now 11-9 with a 3.26 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and a 141-40 strikeout to walk rate in 173.2 innings. Since joining the Dodgers, Nolasco is 6-1 with a 2.36 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP and a 51-15 K-BB rate in 61.1 innings.
The Dodgers schedule gets a little tougher in September, but they play only two teams with winning records, the Reds and Pirates, so he has a chance to end the season on a great note heading into free agency.

Taijuan Walker to make his first major league start on Friday
Yes, Mariners top pitching prospect, Taijuan Walker will make his major league debut on Friday night vs the Astros in Houston. Our own Kenneth Arthur has all you need to know about Walker in this article he wrote yesterday.
Round'em Up
A's outfielder Brandon Moss might be one of the more streaky power hitters in the game. Last night in Detroit, Moss went 4-5 with 2 HRs, 3 runs and 6 RBI in the A's 14-4 thrashing of the Tigers. For the season, he is hitting just .252-.329-.499 with 24 HRs, 59 runs and 66 RBI in just 373 at bats. Over his last nine games, Moss has 12 hits, 6 of which are homers, with 9 runs scored, and 12 RBI. Yeah, another Jay Bruce-like streaky hitter.
In the same game, A's starter Brett Anderson made his first appearance since going on the DL 4 months ago. Four MONTHS ago. Yeah, I own him in my AL keeper league and he has been a huge disappointment. Anyway, he pitched out of the bullpen last night, going 3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, no walks and a strikeout. Anderson could find his way into the Oakland rotation, but he will have to pitch better than this.
Mariners ace Felix Hernandez had the second worst outing of his career yesterday, giving up 9 runs, 8 earned runs, on 11 hits, a walk and 2 strikeouts in the Mariners 12-4 loss to the Rangers. Hernandez is now 12-8 with a 2.97 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 194-40 strikeout to walk rate in 187.2 innings this season. This outing may have severely hurt his chances at another Cy Young award.
I have a feeling Danny Duffy's ownership percentage will be jumping beginning tomorrow after his stellar performance vs the Twins last night. Duffy shut out the Twins on 5 hits, no walks and 7 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. He has now tossed 12.2 shutout innings over his last two starts, and I will certainly be looking at him in my Streamer Report in his next start.
Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre is one of the more consistent high average power hitters in the game. Probably not news to anyone. Last night, he went 3-5 with a HR and 2 RBI in the Rangers 12-4 win over the Mariners. For 2013, he is now hitting .329-.385-.544 with 28 HRs, 79 runs, and 81 RBI and I think he is on pace to make the Hall of Fame. He doesn't have enough gray and black ink, according to Baseball-Reference, but he is closing in on their Hall of Fame Monitor and Hall of Fame standards.
Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright was anything but an ace last night vs the Reds as he didn't make it out of the third inning, giving up 9 runs on 8 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts in just 2 innings of work. This might have been one of his worst starts of his career, and Felix Hernandez wasn't the only ace to get knocked around yesterday. Wainwright's poor performance moved his record to 15-8 with a 2.96 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a still phenomenal 184-27 strikeout to walk rate in 200.2 innings this season.
Rockies starter Jhoulys Chacin has been one of the more underrated starters in baseball this season, and is still underowned in many fantasy leagues. Last night, he took a no-no into the 7th inning before giving up a hit to Brandon Crawford. He left after 7 innings and 108 pitches, giving up just the one hit, one unearned run, 2 walks and 9 strikeouts. He is now 13-7 with a 3.08 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 2013.
